Haçienda Classical announces outdoor performance at Manchester Castlefield Bowl for summer 2023

Haçienda Classical are set to return to Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl next summer for their seventh live show at the venue in eight years.

The Manchester Camerata and DJ Graeme Park-led group will play at Castlefield on 8th July next year with the event taking place as part of Manchester’s Sounds Of The City festival. They will be joined by special guests Roger Sanchez, Todd Terry and former New Order member Peter Hook on the day.

In a statement, Hook said:”I’m so happy to be coming back to Sounds Of The City in 2023. I can’t believe this will be our seventh year! Amazing! Without a doubt, The Haçienda and its crowd know just how to light this city up and party like there’s no tomorrow. [Late founders] Tony [Wilson] and Rob [Gretton] would be so proud.”

Graeme Park added:”This show is always very, very special and I really can’t wait to return for another epic evening in July.”

Conductor Tim Crooks, of the Manchester Camerata, said:”Haçienda Classical in the Castlefield Bowl is the highlight of my year and I’m thrilled to be performing for a seventh year to the best audience in the world. It’s always an unforgettable experience.”

Tickets for the Castlefield Bowl date will go on sale tomorrow (Friday, 4th November) at 9am UK time via Ticketmaster.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of legendary Manchester club The Haçienda, which was celebrated with a rave in a car park at the club’s original site back in May. There’s also another 40th anniversary party coming up on 12th November at Depot Mayfield as part of this year’s Warehouse Project programme. Orbital, Happy Mondays and 808 State are among the acts set to play live.
