Black Coffee wins Highest Climber in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2022

Black Coffee has won the Highest Climber award in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2022, placing in the poll at No. 39.

2022 has been a year of achievements for Nkosinathi Maphumulo, AKA Black Coffee. In the last 12 months, the South African DJ and producer made history by becoming the first African to win the Grammy for the Best Dance/Electronic Album category with 2021’s critically acclaimed ‘Subconsciously’, returned to the White Isle for a full summer’s residency at the world-famous Hï Ibiza, and produced two tracks on Canadian artist Drake’s 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’.

1.3 million votes were counted from 243 countries in this year’s Top 100 DJs poll. Among the smaller territories who participated, we received votes from St Kitts & Nevis, Djibouti, Micronesia, Isle of Man, Palau, the Falkland Islands, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Tuvalu, Montserrat, and even a vote from the Vatican City, demonstrating the truly global reach of the Top 100 DJs poll.
