Avicii’s ‘Wake Me Up’ performed by Aloe Blacc on late star’s fourth anniversary: Watch

Aloe Blacc has paid tribute to Avicii on the fourth anniversary of the late star’s death by performing ‘Wake Me Up’ in several languages, with the help of some AI tools.

The California-born musician and singer/songwriter and Avicii worked together on some of the EDM artist’s biggest hits before his tragic death by suicide in 2018. Blacc provided vocals for Avicii’s blockbuster 2013 hit, ‘Wake Me Up’.

Blacc, who shared the video for his ‘Wake Me Up (Universal Language Mix)’ on YouTube, can be seen singing the track in Mandarin, Spanish and English.

“Avicii’s music touched the world. Writing the lyrics and recording the vocals on WAKE ME UP was a transformative experience for me. Everywhere I’ve been, no matter the country, music lovers and fans sing the lyrics with me in English,” he wrote.

“In honor of Avicii and with the help of Metaphysic.ai and Respeecher.com, I present a very special international version of WAKE ME UP in multiple languages.” Voice cloning specialists Respeecher use AI to convert the voice of one person into the voice of another. Watch the video in full below.

In February 2020, Avicii was awarded two posthumous Swedish Grammys for both his album ‘TIM’, and song of the year for ‘SOS’.
