Merry Christmas from Decoded Magazine

What a year it’s been. Seriously. We’ve all been absolutely flat out, and honestly, it’s been incredible to see how much Decoded has grown and evolved over the past twelve months.

We celebrated our 12th birthday this year, which is pretty mental when you think about it. It only seems like yesterday we were starting out in West London, just a bunch of people passionate about electronic music and wanting to tell the stories that mattered. Twelve years on and here we are, reaching millions of readers around the world.

The all-new version of our Mix of the Month competition has been a proper highlight. Six months in and we’ve been treated to some absolutely phenomenal mixes from DJs all over the world. Huge, huge thanks to Ben Clifford for doing such an amazing job with this. The level of talent coming through has been genuinely inspiring, and we’re already excited about where we’re taking this in 2026.

Speaking of taking things to the next level, massive shoutout to Paul O’Connor and Ben Cain for absolutely smashing it with our pop-up events. And that night at Sushisamba? Honestly, what a vibe. Clive Henry and Siggy on guest DJ duties absolutely delivered, and the turnout was beyond anything we expected. The energy in that room was something special. We’ll be announcing our expanded series for 2026 very soon, so definitely stay tuned for that one.

We’ve also got some genuinely exciting news coming in the new year about an expanded site and what’s next for Decoded, but we’re keeping our cards close to our chest for now. All in good time.

A massive thank you to all our writers who’ve contributed this year. Your passion, knowledge, and dedication to the music and culture we all love is what makes Decoded what it is. We’re also thrilled to be welcoming new faces to the team in the new year from all corners of the globe, which is going to bring even more diversity and fresh perspectives to what we’re doing.

For the next few weeks, we’re taking a bit of a breather from our regular schedule, so this is the perfect opportunity to dive back into some of the brilliant articles, mixes, and videos we’ve put together over the last year. There’s some absolute gems in there if you fancy a proper browse.
