Electric Forest Creates Powerpoint to Convince Young Fan's Parents to Allow His Attendance

Filed by Alvera CastaldoAlvera Castaldo

Sometimes, the struggle being young and trying to convince your parents to go to festivals and parties can be so real. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there. But just imagine how much more convincing you could be if you had the help the festival or party itself to back you up. Crazy, right?

Apparently not. When hopeful festival attendee, Brendan Kaplan, decided he wanted to go to , he didn’t just try to talk his parents into letting him go, he took it to the next level and crafted a full-out PowerPoint presentation.

However, when Electric Forest HQ heard Brendan’s struggle, they decided to help him get to the Forest in any way they could. With the tight-knit community behind the Festival, Electric Forest decided to ask their “Forest Family” for some help to get Brendan to the festival.

After Brenden’s mom replied on Twitter saying she was still unsure, the festival took it one step further by generously fering Brendan a FREE GA Wristband. Even more, they created an upgraded PowerPoint presentation their own, showcasing the diverse , artistic, and learning experiences that the Forest Family experiences every year.

The Electric Forest community quickly rallied behind Brendan, sharing their thoughts, experiences, and personal stories. They even spoke about how attending this unique festival changed their lives for the better. Within minutes, Brendan’s mom was convinced and now Brendan can get excited for an amazing experience this summer.

How cute. Stories like these warm our hearts and remind us how wonderful the community can be.

DJ Equipment Was Stolen From The XX Secret Underground Party

The XX were in town in Sydney, Australia wrapping up a show they were performing at in the grassy fields The Domain. After the show, they had held an after-party at a secret location that ran until early morning with band members and friends. With Jamie XX & Romy XX and more on the decks, the night looked to be one incredible party after all.

The party went f without issues and while most enjoyed the party and took it all in, it seems that come sunrise others had different ideas. It was soon discovered that over $6000 DJ gear had gone missing, consisting decks, various lights and a mixer. The loss had left the promoter taking a huge hit on the event once it was set and done.

Why anyone would think it’s a great idea to steal from international DJ’s looking to put on a free party and spread some good vibes is beyond us. To recoup some their losses they are holding another event and are asking anyone who can contribute to attend or help out with a nominal ticket price amount donation $15-$20.

With these donations, they are also hoping for parties like the one thrown where the incident happened to keep on going. For more information on the new event feel free to visit . A Gundme is also planned to be added at a later time as well.

Marshmello Vows Music for the Day 1 Fans in Upcoming EP

Marshmello Vows Music for the Day 1 Fans in Upcoming EP
Marshmello has been one the biggest superstars in music over the past few years. He can credit some his success to all the collaborations he has done with stars including Khalid, Selena Gomez, and the Migos. But what many you guys may have forgotten is that the masked DJ actually began his career producing rather interesting dance tracks.

When Marshmello was just starting his brand new act, he was playing a lot his own music. But unlike all his current mainstream pop tracks, his original productions categorized better as dance tracks. Tracks such as ‘Find Me‘, ‘Blocks‘, and ‘Know Me‘ once defined Mello and made all us take interest in his music. Since going mainstream, we haven’t really seen any work that resembled his original sounds but that’s all about to change. To the delight the OG Mellogang, he recently tweeted that a dance EP is in production. Check out the announcement tweet below.

Tomorrowland Drops First Wave Artists & Confirms Hardwell Return

The world’s most popular festival is six months out and anticipation is quickly rising. Tomorrowland‘s 14th edition takes place over two weekends, July 20-22nd and July 27-29th. The organizers the festival recently  and followed that up by releasing an epic first wave artists who’ll perform at this years’ show.

The biggest bombshell this release is that Hardwell will be performing for the first time since 2015. Tomorrowland did not include Hardwell in 2016 and 2017 after Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike supposedly used questionable techniques to claim the top spot on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs List in 2015 leading to a fall out between Hardwell and DV&LM. However, the beef was seemingly this past December as Hardwell joined them on stage at Bringing the Madness. The return Hardwell certainly puts the cherry on top this years’ festival.

Tomorrowland has arguably the greatest lineup among all festivals around the world. The first weekend will host the likes HardwellAxwell // Ingrosso, REZZ, Sven Väth, and Claptone. The second weekend will host Hardwell, Axwell // Ingrosso, Armin van Buuren, RL Grime, and course the beloved Pryda Arena.

This is only the first release and comes a full six months ahead the first week. Tomorrowland’s awe comes from its intricate stages, friendly crowd, and epic lineup. Check our extensive reviews last year’s and to see why this is the festival you truly don’t want to miss.

The Skrillex & Jennifer Lopez Song You Never Wanted is Finally Here

Filed by Bunny RobertiBunny Roberti

Ask your average Skrillex fan what they want from Sonny Moore, and it’s more new original music. While it’s true that Skrillex has not put out many singles recently, he has been all over the map musically. He has been singing for his band From First to Last and he has been producing music for a wide range artists. From Camila Cabello to Justin Bieber and Incubus, there is nobody that hasn’t shared some studio time with the EDM legend.

Now finally his most random collaboration is seeing the light day. Way back in March we saw Skrillex in the studio with . At a concert this past weekend, Jennifer performed the new song for the first time after a shoutout to the producer. The track sounds like a Latin riff on his “Would You Ever” collaboration with  Poo Bear. Take a listen to the new untitled song and “Would You Ever” below.

Premiere: Nicuri

Filed by Kristina ClearKristina Clear

Anyone who’s followed the career of Nicuri over the years will know that he’s one of the most criminally underrated producers in the game. Although his releases are somewhat thin on the ground , when the New Jersey producer does get in the studio he tends to deliver with aplomb. His latest work sees him remix a true house music legend, compatriot DJ Duke. Released as part of Duke’s Green Pastures EP on emerging Irish imprint Solo Works, it’s one part of a special all-round package that also includes a remix from Dublin producers, Slowburn.

Taking Duke’s ‘Green Pastures’ and adding an irresistible acid line into proceedings, Nicuri then ramps matters up further via a spliced vocal and a baseline that’s perfectly suited to a sun rising Panorama Bar session. An almost impeccable house gem, it’s a perfect tonic to these long and occasionally arduous winter nights.

Listen to Nicuri’s remix of DJ Duke’s ‘Green Pastures’ below and be sure to order a copy of the release here.
