Flosstradamus Confirms Upcoming Album
Well, it has been a while since we have seen a new Flosstradamus album. Although success has been unquestionable over the past few years, it has also been a rollercoaster ride for the trap act. Of course, the biggest change would be the downgrade in size as they went from two members to just one a little bit over a year ago. However, that has not stopped Floss’ remaining member, Curt Cameruci, from continuing on the empire the act has built. Now that everything has settled down a bit, Flosstradamus has just confirmed that a new album is indeed on it’s way.

Recently Flosstradamus cleared every last post on his Instagram account which left all his followers scratching their heads. One fan tweeted at Curt and curried if a new album was coming or if the sudden act meant a new change in sound. Floss responded to the fan by confirming both speculations.

We won’t have to wait too long for new music though as Floss just dropped a brand new single today. The new single is called ‘2 Much‘ and it features 24hrs on vocals. Although Floss did say a new signature sound is coming soon, ‘2 Much’ sounds just like the Floss that we know and love. Check out his Twitter exchange as well as his new track below.

Don Diablo Showcases His Talent With Sophomore Album 'Future'

Don Diablo – Future

For many EDM fans, watching Don Diablo rise to where he is now has been spectacular to witness. After bursting into the spot light with his release ‘Starlight’ back in 2014, many wondered if Don would be a one-hit wonder. But after following up ‘Starlight’ with countless hit tracks and selling out venues around the world, there is no question that Don is here to stay.

It seems like every year, Don Diablo continues to gain massive influence in the EDM world and although 2017 was an incredible year for him, it seems like 2018 is on track to top it. If you have any doubt this, here is another reason to believe. His sophomore album, Future, presents his pure talents in music production. The album consists 16 tracks with most them being collaborations with other talented artists. And while it consists a diverse variety sounds it still incorporates his signature style.

If you have been to one his live shows recently, you were probably blessed and have heard a few the tracks already. Tracks including ‘Everybody’s Somebody’, ‘TAKE HER PLACE’, ‘Echoes’ are a just a few that he has played in his recent performances. As mentioned above, the album presents a wide variety sounds. ‘Satellite‘ and ‘You Can’t Change Me‘ are two that are quite upbeat and will make the crowd jump whereas ‘Put It On For Me‘ is a track that can bring the feels. One the more unique tracks on the album is ‘People Say‘ featuring Paije as he experiments with a Jamaican-like sound. One my personal favorites on the album would be ‘Don’t Let Go‘ as it just one those tracks that you can gently groove to and peacefully absorb the music.

If you’re like me and after hearing the album, you just have see Don Diablo live, he actually just kicked f his 8-stop North American “Future Tour”. He will be joined by up and coming talent, Lost Frequencies, to bring you an unforgettable night. Click to see if Don Diablo will be stopping in a city near you and be sure to check out his album below.

H&M apologise for using Harvey Sutherland’s track in ad campaign

Filed by Yun PinkertonYun Pinkerton

Well well well, nice you to acknowledge the wrong doing here, H&M.

After using Harvey Sutherland’s track ‘Bamboo’ in a recent campaign, global clothing machine H&M have released a statement apologising. Safe to say someone copped a slap on the wrist for that one.

The mess unfolded on Monday when Sutherland shared screen shots H&M claiming the track was “produced” for their campaign, when in fact it was taken and used without permission or even a courtesy email.

Naturally, the music world hit back, including , and H&M deleted their post. This was then followed by an ficial apology form a H&M spokesperson that reads as follows: “We apologise and have now removed content featuring the music from all our social media accounts”.

H&M have not made any further comment on the matter, but hopefully – with Harvey Sutherland’s background in law, particularly intellectual property, media, and entertainment – they cough up some cash for the man.

Ibiza's Airbnb ban will have significant implications on the global dance destination economy

Filed by Kelli MichelsonKelli Michelson

Ibiza’s latest nightlife crackdown illustrates daunting realities about the Balearic utopia.

After having recently announced the island, the White Isle will now also be banning Airbnb and other tourist rental platforms  beginning as early as this summer — as originally reported by the Spain outlet .

The ban comes forth as an effort to combat the exorbitant rental climb its seen over the course the summers. The City Council and government Ibiza hold the belief that this ban, an investment in the island’s hotels, and ultimate prioritizing its locals’ and dance music industry workers’ housing accommodations over tourists will work to counteract its presently unsustainable rental market.

As the number passengers traveling to the island has jumped to record highs in just the last half year alone, originally reported in September by the , the island’s contrasting, plummeting hotel occupancy points directly to just how much alternative rental services like Airbnb have cornered market control. With more than half a billion euros that could be put back into the district’s economy through a more localized rental market approach, it was only a matter time until the government intervened and worked to limit its landlords’ astronomical prits from tourists.

With the looming uncertainty rental services, the hotels in the nightlife district will become travelers single option. But, with this market shift, Ibiza’s poised to become increasingly difficult to travel to as a result;  fewer traveler options also means significant price increases.

The White Isle will continue to situate itself as an elite getaway. Considering that Ibiza is already the eighth most expensive destination in the world and visitors need an average ,  the future Ibiza’s nightlife is at a head. Now, the island seems to have chosen to cater more directly towards the financially-sound and VIP-culture than ever before.

Ibiza’s cornering the elite market is nothing new though. Spain’s Balearic islands introduced its “tourist tax” in 2015. A year earlier, a New York Times article claimed the island was being reinvented by “high rollers and mega-rich moguls.” VIP environments began rapidly evolving at the island’s hottest clubs in the mid-2010’s and another idea “what Ibiza could be” began reemerging every few years around the same time.

Today, it’s the White Isle’s continually alienating, VIP-cultivation that’s calling into question just how much travelers can look to the island as a ble getaway. Though they may also want to consider exactly what the other unorthodox destinations and affordable alternatives really are.

Previously Ibiza-interested purveyors can head east and they’ll hit Croatia, which has continually been building its reputation with a bevy festivals on the . The other side the Mediterranean fers Greek party islands. Both and have bustling dance music scenes that are equally sustained by the spirit their surroundings.

Ko Phangan, the island in the Gulf Thailand, is increasingly appealing, and the Brazilian island Florianópolis in Brazil’s Santa Catarina state is considered by some to be Brazil’s answer to Ibiza. Even the US’ Las Vegas can be prepositioned for a weekend getaway that’s suitable as a White Isle replacement, especially considering its and open-minded genre extension residencies from acts like the South African house auteur .

As the uncertainty Ibiza’s very longevity is being called into question and the possibility a narrow future ble traveling options for all arises, attacks on the islands’ ethos are still met with repulsion by the island’s most loyal supporters. When DJ Clara da Costa was asked in a BBC documentary in the mid-2010’s about the island’s remaining magic she said, “Ibiza will never lose its magic, it is an island full beauty, love, energy, and creativity which is continuously evolving.”

Though in journalist Matthew Collin’s recently released book about the globalization dance music, he remarks: “In places rendered increasingly unrecognizable by gentrification, there comes a point when it’s time for the free-thinkers to move on.”

It’s difficult to predict when or where exactly dance destination revelers will move on to from the magic and mayhem that is the Baeleric nest, but Space’s longtime boss Pepe Rosellø seems to have said it best at ‘s closing set when he said, “Your emotions and love will remain here forever.”

Destructo has launched a new music cruise called FRIENDSHIP

Filed by Yun PinkertonYun Pinkerton

Destructo (aka Gary Richards) has indulged dance music fans across the globe with news of his newest music cruise, FRIENDSHIP. The concept is a major move for the LiveStyle (formerly SFX Entertainment) team.

After splitting ways with HARD EVENTS (which he founded) and thus the Holy Ship! concept, the long-time event producer and DJ has confirmed a new EDM festival-at-sea will disembark on Tuesday, 11th December.  The cruise is being presented by newly launched LiveStyle platform AMFAMFAMF.

“There is a place where my friends and I go and we do fun things—the kind of fun things that build everlasting memories that I could never put a price on and I absolutely never could because these times are priceless and irreplaceable,” shares Richards. “At the end when I look back and reminisce about these times I had and the experiences that molded me and watered me enough to grow, I’ll think about all the friends I’ve made along the way and how I am a part of their story and they are more than all my friends. They are all my family. That is FRIENDSHIP.”

AMFAMFAMF presents FRIENDSHIP runs 11th through 15th December. Similarly to Holy Ship! the cruise will disembark from Florida (Miami vs Holy Ship’s Port Canaveral) and will feature multiple private beach parties.

MGMT return with their first album in 5-years, ‘Little Dark Age’

Filed by Antonio AlbertyAntonio Alberty

Emma Swann

If you’re anything like me, MGMT hold a very special place in your teenage heart. Songs like ‘Kids’ and ‘Electric Feel’ helped soundtrack my youth, the good times and the bad, and for that I am forever grateful for those sweet, sweet Indie-Electronic ambassadors.

Naturally, when I heard MGMT were coming back, I was a little stoked. Sure, there were some concerns in how they would sound after all these years, but those concerns were slashed when I heard their return track ‘When You Die’ that dropped in December.

Not a very comforting title, sure, but it was a definite sign good things to come, as well as a musical maturity from the pair that has clearly been keeping them busy for the past half decade.

From here, it didn’t take long to get a follow up release, and it came in the form the album’s title track, ‘Little Dark Age’. This high energy, lyrically intricate song serves as way setting the tone for the album, a project that shifts from fun, energetic tracks to deeper, more intimate cuts that all mesh together poignantly to create the narrative their ‘Little Dark Age’.

It’s clear from this album that MGMT have evolved from ‘Kids’ to men, and I for one am all for it. Oh, and excuse that dreadful pun.

JACKNIFE x Truman – Puff Berry

Australian producer JACKNIFE has been killing it lately with his hard house sound and he is continuing his hot streak with his new song “No Games” with fellow Australian producer Truman.

Right f the bat this song gets straight dirty and you can tell that these two are not messing around with this one. They get down and cold with the chopped vocals and the menacing bass mixed with trap snares. The drop is something straight f the streets with its griminess and threatening synths. The two take g-house to the next level here and will have the club getting down and dirty with them.

“Puff Berry” is out now Uprise Music, who have been releasing straight heaters in the hard and g-house genres. This one is obviously no different and will absolutely destroy the dancefloor. So check it out now down below and do not play any games with this one.

Mallrat teams with Allday on lush new track ‘UFO’

Filed by Yun PinkertonYun Pinkerton

We may as well rename 2018 Mallrat’s year. Today marks the release her brand new single, ‘UFO,’ featuring her friend and self made hip-hop star, Allday.

The latest single finds itself in circulation just a mere few weeks after her previous single ‘Better’ landed her a debut spot in the triple j Hottest 100 (#46), indicating what we already know: she’s one Australia’s youngest rising stars.

Standing in heavy opposition to her preceding, acoustic guitar focused release ‘Better,’ ‘UFO’ finds itself in a dimmer, more menacing outpost. Its thick production and tiers magnetic phrases showcase the leaps and bounds she has made as a composer and creator since the release her debut EP, Uninvited, back in 2016.

Whilst, the appearance from Allday shows the currently, LA-based / Adelaide-born rapper, convey one the silkiest features his calling, with his own harmonies accompanying his concise delivery, serving to effortlessly mold his involvement in wholly with the aesthetics Mallrat has constructed across the rest the track.

Speaking his feature on ‘UFO,’ Mallrat says that she found it tough to see herself teaming up with anyone else, which speaks volumes on the close bond between the two artists.

“I feel like we’re two peas in a pod, so it’s pretty amazing that we can work together,” says Mallrat. “I don’t know if there are a lot other vocalists that I would feel comfortable asking to be on my songs, just because I feel like lyrics are so personal for me. But because he’s such a close friend and we always get where each other are coming from, it felt perfect for the song.”

Mallrat looks set to become even more a global superstar after this release, listen to the track in full below.
