The Mary Wallopers Announce New Album ‘Paddywhackery’ and 2026 Tour
The Mary Wallopers have officially announced their highly anticipated third studio album, Paddywhackery, set for release on September 18. The record follows their critically acclaimed 2023 effort, Irish Rock’n’Roll, and marks a significant evolution in the band’s creative trajectory.
To celebrate the announcement, the Dundalk-based group has unveiled the lead single, “Crowns Of England.” Recorded during an intense two-week session in Liverpool with producer James Skelly of The Coral, the track showcases a newfound tightness in the band’s instrumentation while maintaining their signature unrestrained spirit.
“The song is about being in England and feeling like an outsider in all that colonialism,” explained Charles Hendy. “It’s about Irish people who move to London and then assimilate by trying to get away from being Irish. That outsider status could apply to immigrants generally, or even people from small towns moving into cities.”
Addressing the album’s provocative title, Andrew and Charles Hendy noted that Paddywhackery serves as a direct response to critics who have labeled their work as performative. “If all you do is serious songs, it sterilises everything,” they stated. “If people are going to call us ‘paddywhackery’ anyway, we might as well just call the album that. It’s more of a ‘fuck you’ than anything else. We want to spread like a virus and destroy anyone who thinks they are above The Mary Wallopers.”

In support of the new release, the band will embark on a extensive 2026 tour across the UK and Ireland. The run of shows kicks off in Edinburgh on October 13 and includes major stops at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, Dublin’s 3Arena, and Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.
