Temples Embrace Electronic Evolution on Captivating New Single ‘Vendetta’
Temples have unveiled their latest single, ‘Vendetta’, a track that masterfully blends the band’s signature psych-rock sensibilities with the pulsating energy of modern electronic music. The release serves as a compelling preview of their forthcoming fifth studio album, Bliss, which is slated for release on June 26 via V2.
A New Sonic Horizon
Known for their intricate arrangements and retro-futuristic sound, the Kettering four-piece have taken a decisive step into new territory. ‘Vendetta’ is characterized by its infectious, dancefloor-ready melody, underpinned by scuzzy guitar riffs and driving, rhythmic synths. Frontman James Bagshaw notes that the track’s unique sound was born from the fusion of two contrasting ideas, resulting in a dizzying, intoxicating atmosphere.
“Suddenly, you had this almost Justice-Daft Punk-sounding sample that then goes into something that could be a modern take on dance music,” Bagshaw explained. “Like a David Guetta or Avicii song.”

The Creative Vision Behind ‘Bliss’
The upcoming record, Bliss, marks a significant departure from the band’s previous work, including 2023’s Exotico. While their past projects often leaned heavily into lush, psychedelic soundscapes, this collection draws inspiration from iconic electronic acts such as Faithless, Underworld, Massive Attack, and Portishead. By taking full control of the production process, the band has allowed their instincts to guide the creative vision.
“In terms of creative output, you’re bearing it all and you can feel very naked,” Bagshaw said. “For us, it’s all about the purity of the idea and the creative vision. This is pure Temples, more than records we’ve produced ourselves before because we really haven’t thought about how it’s going to be received. That’s incredibly liberating.”
As the band prepares for a busy summer, including a performance at Latitude Festival in July, fans can look forward to a 2026 tour that promises to bring these new, high-energy tracks to life on stage. With a headline run across the UK later this year, Temples are proving that their evolution is as bold as it is unexpected.
