Meghan McCain Welcomes Baby Boy and Becomes a Mom of Three
Meghan McCain is officially a mom of three – and this time, it’s a baby boy.
The former View co-host and her husband, Ben Domenech, welcomed their third child on January 2. Their son, Ransom McCain Domenech, joins big sisters Liberty, 5, and Clover, 2. Safe to say, their house just got a whole lot louder.
“Everyone is happy, healthy and exhausted,” Meghan shared in a statement to People published January 3. “We’re absolutely over the moon that our baby boy is here.” That pretty much sums up newborn life in one sentence.
Meghan also posted on Instagram, thanking the hospital staff for taking “such wonderful care of all of us.” She added that Liberty and Clover are already obsessed with their new baby brother, which honestly feels like the best possible outcome when you add another kid to the mix.
“Liberty and Clover couldn’t be more excited to have a baby brother,” she wrote, sharing a photo of her and Ben holding Ransom. “Our family is overwhelmed with blessings. Thank you all for your kind words, well wishes and prayers. Our family is officially a party of 5.”
McCain first announced her pregnancy back in June on her Citizen McCain podcast – and she didn’t pretend to have it all figured out. She openly admitted she was nervous, especially about having a boy and managing life with three kids.
“It’s a boy. I’m very nervous about having a boy,” she said at the time. “And I’m very nervous about having three children. Very.” Refreshingly honest, and probably relatable to most parents.
Over the years, Meghan has been pretty open about how motherhood has changed her. In a January 2024 interview with People, she shared that being a mom has made her more patient and grounded – whether she planned on it or not.
“Every single day is like an exercise in patience and humility,” she said, explaining how her life now revolves around school mornings, meals, bath time, books, and bedtime prayers. “You become really humbled in the best way possible.”
Now, with Ransom here, that full, chaotic, Domenech’s family life just got a little bigger – and by the sound of it, Meghan wouldn’t have it any other way.
