Julian Lennon has shared a candid update regarding his health, revealing that he has been diagnosed with coronary heart disease and is currently pre-diabetic. The 63-year-old musician and documentary filmmaker, son of John Lennon and his first wife Cynthia, took to social media to encourage his followers to be proactive about their own health.

In a message shared over the weekend, Lennon emphasized the importance of early detection. “I urge you all to get checked out sooner rather than later,” he wrote. “You never know what hidden health issues you may have, even after exercising and eating as much ‘good/healthy’ food as possible.”

Lennon noted that he has managed to catch these conditions early enough to potentially reverse some of the damage, expressing optimism about his ability to lead a long and healthy life. He concluded his message by thanking the medical professionals who have guided him through this new journey, adding, “Please get checked out, before you’re checked out.”

This health update follows a history of medical challenges for the artist. In 2024, he revealed that he had undergone emergency surgery after being diagnosed with skin cancer. That incident occurred roughly six years after he first sought treatment for a cancerous growth on his head, which was identified following a routine dermatologist visit. Following those previous scares, he was given the all-clear, though he has remained open about the toll such experiences take.

Beyond his health, Lennon has frequently addressed his relationship with his family legacy and his half-brother, Sean Ono Lennon. Despite persistent rumors of a feud, Julian has consistently dismissed such claims as “bull,” maintaining that the two share a close bond.
