Is Geese’s Cameron Winter Singing Under an Alias on Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘Lost Weekend’?
Geese frontman Cameron Winter has responded to growing speculation that he is singing under an alias on Phoebe Bridgers‘ highly anticipated new album, Lost Weekend.
Bridgers is set to release her third studio record next Friday (August 14) via Dead Oceans, marking her first full-length project since 2020’s Punisher. While the singer has already shared the lead single, Lost Boys, and unveiled the full tracklist, fans have been busy dissecting the credits for potential surprises.
A recent review of the album by Rolling Stone suggested that Winter may have secretly contributed to the project under the pseudonym ‘Son-John Johnson’. The credits for Lost Weekend already include notable names such as Boygenius bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, as well as collaborator Christian Lee Hutson, with additional production from Jack Antonoff and Alex G.
According to reports, the mysterious ‘Johnson’ is credited on two tracks: providing backing vocals on Kill Me and duetting with Bridgers on I Can’t Wait. Critics have noted that the vocal performance bears a striking resemblance to Winter’s signature style, with Rolling Stone describing the “raw falsetto” as “unmistakable.”
When asked directly about his potential involvement in the album, Winter laughed off the rumors, telling Rolling Stone: “I’ll have to contact my lawyer.”
The speculation has been fueled by eagle-eyed fans on Reddit, some of whom had predicted a collaboration between the two artists nearly a year ago. As anticipation for Lost Weekend reaches a fever pitch, fans will have to wait until the album’s release to confirm if the Geese frontman truly is the voice behind the mysterious alias.
Meanwhile, Geese are preparing for a busy touring schedule, including appearances at Reading & Leeds 2026 and a headline slot at this year’s End Of The Road festival.
