Ice Spice Makes Light of Viral McDonald’s Altercation

Ice Spice has addressed a viral video showing her in an altercation at a McDonald’s restaurant, opting to handle the situation with a touch of humor. The Bronx rapper, who rose to fame with her distinctive sound and rapid ascent in the hip hop scene, joked that such an incident “wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.”

Earlier this week, CCTV footage surfaced online showing the rapper in a heated confrontation with a member of the public while seated at a McDonald’s booth in Los Angeles. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, April 15, escalated when an individual approached the rapper and her friend, eventually leading to a physical scuffle. The footage shows Ice Spice navigating the situation by climbing over neighboring booths to exit the premises.

On Friday, April 17, Ice Spice took to her X account to share an edited version of the clip, captioning it with the quip: “this wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s.” The reference is a nod to her pre-fame days, as the rapper famously worked at the fast-food chain before her music career took off. She continues to embrace this history, even listing herself as a “Wendy’s princess” in her social media bios.

While the artist has chosen to make light of the moment, her legal team is taking a more serious approach. Her attorney, Bradford Cohen, issued a statement confirming that the incident has been reported to the LAPD. “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly,” Cohen stated. He further noted that they are investigating the location’s security protocols to determine if the establishment failed to provide a safe environment.

This incident follows a period of public scrutiny for the rapper, who has previously been the subject of industry tensions, including a leaked phone call from 2025 involving Cardi B. Despite the challenges that come with high-profile fame, Ice Spice remains focused on her trajectory. Her debut album, Y2K!, received a three-star review from NME in 2024, which noted that while it may not be a definitive masterpiece, it highlights a young artist with significant room to grow and evolve in the competitive music industry.
