Grian Chatten Joins Kneecap for High-Energy Primavera Sound Set
Fontaines D.C.’s Grian Chatten joined Kneecap for a blistering performance of ‘Better Way To Live’ at Primavera Sound – watch the footage below.
The Belfast rap trio took to the Occident Stage at the Barcelona festival at 1am on Saturday night (June 6), bringing out their frequent collaborator Chatten for a standout rendition of their 2023 single. Originally released as the lead track from Kneecap’s debut album ‘Fine Art’, the song serves as an anthem for finding joy amidst the monotony of daily life, and Chatten’s guest vocals brought an electric energy to the festival atmosphere.

While on-site at the Parc del Fòrum, Chatten was also spotted enjoying the festival’s diverse lineup, notably rocking out during The Cure’s massive two-and-a-half-hour set on Thursday night (June 4), which marked the band’s first live performance in over 18 months.
The collaboration between Chatten and Kneecap has become a staple of their live shows, with previous appearances at Glastonbury, London’s Finsbury Park, and Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park. Beyond the stage, Chatten has remained a vocal supporter of the group, famously defending them against legal challenges and describing the scrutiny they have faced as a “witch hunt.”
Fontaines D.C. are currently preparing for a series of live dates in Spain this summer, followed by headline slots at Reading & Leeds and Electric Picnic. Meanwhile, Kneecap continues to ride the success of their second album, ‘Fenian’, which recently achieved the highest UK chart position ever for an Irish language record.
