DJ Shadow Announces 30th Anniversary Reissue and Tour of ‘Endtroducing’

Legendary producer and DJ DJ Shadow has officially announced plans to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his seminal debut album, Endtroducing. The producer will mark the milestone with a special reissue of the record, arriving on September 18, alongside a comprehensive tour that will see him performing across North America and the UK.

Released in September 1996, Endtroducing remains a cornerstone of instrumental hip-hop. Recorded between his home studio, The Glue Factory in San Francisco, and Dan The Automator’s studio, the album is widely recognized as the first entirely sample-based project of its kind. Its unique blend of rock, psychedelia, and jazz influences helped define the sound of modern electronica, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry.

Over the past three decades, the album has garnered immense critical acclaim and inspired countless artists. Notably, Radiohead have cited the record as a significant source of inspiration, while Deftones collaborated with the producer in 2020 for a remix of their own classic album, White Pony.

The anniversary edition will feature the original tracklist, including iconic cuts such as ‘Midnight In A Perfect World’ and ‘Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt’. Following the reissue, the producer—born Joshua Paul Davis—will embark on a tour starting in San Diego next month, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, and a special performance at London’s Barbican on December 18.
