Craig Oram – With no second thought, Oram says outdoor festivals are the winner. The ambiance and energy of the sea of people fuel his enthusiasm for playing.

Craig Oram – The DJ names his top choice currently as the Dune 3 synth, describing it as “insanely powerful” and a welcome respite from industry standard Serum.

T.H.E – One song you wish you had created?

Craig Oram – Oram admits he’s never thought about it that way. “I’m happy enough making my own tracks,” he says with a laugh, reflecting his commitment to originality.

T.H.E – Favourite place you’ve travelled for music?

Craig Oram – Cape Town tops the list. The city left a strong impression on him as a destination that combined both culture and music.

T.H.E – One word to describe your sound?

Craig Oram – “Energizing,” he replies, citing the fact that several listeners have employed the same adjective to describe the energy of his tracks.

T.H.E – Last track you had on repeat?

Craig Oram – He cites Silver Panda & Ranji – Power of the Acid as inspiration and a reference for sound design memory note alike.

T.H.E – Dream collaborator?

Craig Oram – The possibilities are endless, but names such as Fab Massimo, CADELAGO, DON’T BLINK, and Solomun feature as the artists he would love to work with.

T.H.E – Afternoon or morning studio session?

Craig Oram – “Mornings,” he confesses, although largely because he tends to stay up all night writing music.

T.H.E – Artist to watch this year?

Craig Oram – Fab Massimo gets cut again. Oram has even received one-on-one mentoring from him, crediting the guidance as a significant factor in his development.

T.H.E – What studio rule do you always break?

Craig Oram – “There are no rules in my studio,” Oram affirms. That mindset permits him to experiment without limits.
