Belle & Sebastian Expand 2026 Anniversary Tour with New Dates

Scottish indie legends Belle & Sebastian have announced an extensive expansion to their highly anticipated 2026 tour. The band is currently celebrating three decades of their seminal debut albums, Tigermilk and If You’re Feeling Sinister, with a series of live performances that have captivated audiences across the globe.

Originally scheduled to conclude in late June at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand, the tour will now continue through the end of the year. The newly added dates, spanning from November 27 to December 9, will see the band perform in major European cities including Athens, Rome, Munich, and Frankfurt. Following the European leg, the group will return to the UK for a series of shows in Nottingham, Norwich, Cardiff, Bristol, Bexhill-on-Sea, Liverpool, Sheffield, and a final homecoming performance in Glasgow.

A Celebration of Indie History

The tour structure has been a unique treat for long-time fans, with the band often performing double-header shows where one night is dedicated to Tigermilk and the next to If You’re Feeling Sinister. For the newly announced dates, the band confirmed that most shows will feature If You’re Feeling Sinister in its entirety, while select stops in Rotterdam, Nottingham, and Bristol will showcase Tigermilk.

Frontman Stuart Murdoch and his bandmates have remained a vital force in the indie scene since their inception. Their most recent studio effort, 2023’s Late Developers, proved that the band continues to evolve while maintaining the melodic sensibilities that made them cult icons in the 1990s.

Football and Music

The tour announcement follows the band’s recent foray into sports-adjacent songwriting. Earlier this month, the group released the buoyant anthem “It Only Takes One Lion” to celebrate Scotland’s 2026 World Cup campaign. Murdoch noted that the track was a spontaneous, heartfelt response to the team’s qualifying success and his own lifelong connection to the sport.

“I wrote this initial bit about how I felt about the current World Cup team and the qualifying game,” Murdoch explained. “It’s my little anthem for how I feel about football and following Scotland for the last 50 years, just the ups and downs.”

Tickets for the newly added dates are set to go on general sale this Friday, June 19. With the band’s enduring popularity and the nostalgic significance of these two landmark albums, fans are encouraged to secure their spots early.
