Zohar & Nymfo – Mirrors

2025 has been a strong year for Dekmantel’s UFO series —  a side of the festival’s discography devoted to immersive techno typical of its UFO stage. Zohar’s textured dub and ambient style of techno would fit well alongside Quelza’s outstanding ‘Pensa Poetico’ of this year and, paired with Metalheadz affiliate Nymfo, it gets a rushing drum & bass undercurrent to drive it forward. Tension is the best thing about this collaboration; an enduring dread lurks between the faint clinks and lumbering kick drums of ‘Value’, but when the pair break it early (‘Haunted’) or with coarse percussion and ripsaw synths (‘Mirrors’) the impact is noticeably diminished.
