Watch The xx Perform ‘Intro’ at Primavera Sound 2026
The xx have shared live footage of them performing ‘Intro’ at this year’s Primavera Sound in Barcelona. The band, who were among the headliners at the festival last month, delivered the performance on the main stage during the Barcelona edition at Parc del Fòrum on 6th June, before returning for the Porto, Portugal outing on 11th June. Released in 2009 as the opening track from their self-titled debut album, ‘Intro’ remains one of The xx’s most recognisable songs and continues to be a staple of their live sets. The footage captures the atmospheric energy that has defined the group’s return to the stage.
Back in April, the UK group marked the “start of the next chapter together” with their first live show since 2018 in Mexico City. They followed it later that month with their first festival set in eight years on Coachella’s Main Stage, playing for just under an hour with a 16-song setlist that included a medley of the individual members’ solo tracks. Romy’s ‘Enjoy Your Life’, Oliver Sim’s ‘GMT’, and Jamie xx’s ‘Wanna’ and ‘Treat Each Other Right’ were all featured.
Last year, the group released a digital deluxe edition of their 2009 self-titled debut album with bonus tracks and covers. They also confirmed they have been “in the studio” working on a new album after reports of new material first began circulating in January 2024.
The festival’s first full day of programming was heavily disrupted by severe weather conditions, leading to the last-minute cancellation of sets from Massive Attack, Doja Cat, Bad Gyal and others.
