Watch the trailer for the FKA twigs and Nicholas Cage-starring biblical horror film, The Carpenter’s Son

The trailer for the upcoming biblical horror film The Carpenter’s Son, in which FKA twigs stars as Mary, mother of Jesus, has been shared.

Written and directed by Egyptian-American filmmaker Lofty Nathan, the movie also stars Nicholas Cage as Joseph and Noah Jupe as Jesus.

First teased last year, no date has been set for the film yet, but it’s due to hit cinemas this autumn.

“The Carpenter’s Son tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt,” the official synopsis reads. “The son, known only as ‘the Boy’, is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension.

“As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors, natural and divine.”

Last year, twigs starred alongside Bill Skarsgård in Rupert Sanders’ remake of the 1994 movie The Crow.

Meanwhile, twigs recently teased the arrival of new album ‘Eusexua Afterglow’, the follow-up to January’s ‘EUSEXUA’ LP, and her third to date.

‘EUSEXUA’ served as the successor to 2019’s ‘MAGDALENE’, and 2023 mixtape ‘CAPRISONGS’.
