Watch Fatboy Slim’s ‘Role Model’ music video, featuring David Bowie, Jimmy Hendrix, Blondie, more
Fatboy Slim has dropped a new music video to accompany his single, ‘Role Model’. You can watch the clip below.
Directed DX and rxr314, the piece uses digital manipulation to make it look like hig- profile 20th and 21st Century celebrities are singing the track’s lyrics. Bill Murray, David Bowie, John Lennon, Blondie, Jimmy Hendrix, George Clooney, Jeff Bridges as The Big Lebowski, Iggy Pop, and Bob Marley all feature.
Dan Diamond, the track’s vocalist, also appears, as does Fatboy Slim, AKA Norman Cook, and the man whose image adorned the cover of his landmark 1998 album, ‘You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby‘, who has never been formally identified.
‘Role Model’ was originally unveiled last month on digital and physical format, with a limited 500-pressing run also available on special edition acid-print vinyl. The release coincides with 30 years of Fatboy Slim’s own Southern Fried Records, the label carrying the single.
In addition to the new cut, the DJ, producer and musician is also playing a number of live shows as part of his Loves Summer 2024 tour, including Cornwall, Manchester, Scarborough, Bedfordshire, Glasgow, Galway and Halifax, running June to August. The schedule begins tomorrow, Friday 14th June, at Fairer Park, Dublin, and you can find a full list of dates below the video.
