Watch Alysa Liu figure skate to PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson’s ‘Stateside’ remix at the 2026 Olympic Gala
American figure skater Alysa Liu performed at the 2026 Olympic Gala in Milan on Saturday (21st February), skating to the remix of ‘Stateside’ by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson.
Wearing a sparkly blue dress, Liu performed her routine to the remixed track from the ‘Fancy That’ mixtape by PinkPantheress. Liu described the UK garage pop star as her “favourite artist” in an interview with Olympic/Paralympic correspondent Raymond Braun last week.
Braun also shared a message of support directly from PinkPantheress, who said: “You are so inspiring, and when I was younger, I was obsessed with figure skaters, so you are literally living my dream. Thank you so much for the love.”
Liu picked PinkPantheress’ 2023 record ‘Heaven Knows’ as her Perfect 10 on Pitchfork earlier this month. “It gets me hyped up, and it gets me in the zone…it’s just very inspiring,” she told the publication.
The performance came as part of the Olympic Figure Skating exhibition gala: a celebratory event held after the conclusion of the Games, bringing together medal-winning athletes and other top skaters for a non-competitive showcase.
Liu took home two gold medals at the 2026 Winter Games earlier this month, winning the women’s singles figure skating title and contributing to the US team’s victory in the team competition. Watch some footage of Liu skating to ‘Stateside’ below.
Last month, PinkPantheress linked up with MJ Cole to put a fresh spin on the latter’s UK garage classic ‘Still Sincere‘, originally released in 1998.
PinkPantheress dropped her mixtape ‘Fancy That’ in 2025 and an accompanying remix album. She also received two Grammy nominations this year, in the Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance Pop Recording categories.
Her viral Underworld-sampling single ‘Illegal’ was nominated in the Best Track category at DJ Mag’s Best Of British awards in 2025.
