Tributes Paid to Ibiza DJ and OuShe Founder Santanna Oush

Tributes are being poured out for Ibiza DJ Santanna Oush, born Santanna Maria Ally, who tragically passed away at this year’s Houghton Festival in Norfolk. The 38-year-old artist was discovered unresponsive in a tent on Sunday, August 9th, the final day of the four-day event. Despite the immediate intervention of the on-site medical team, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

An inquest into the death of Santanna Oush was opened at the Norfolk Coroner’s Court in Norwich on August 18th. While Norfolk Police have stated that the circumstances surrounding her passing remain unexplained, they have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

In a formal statement, Houghton Festival expressed their profound sorrow: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that a person has passed away at Houghton 2026. Our thoughts are entirely with their family and loved ones at this difficult time.” The festival organizers also acknowledged the swift response of their medical and event teams, as well as the Norfolk Constabulary, during the incident.

London-born Ally was a vibrant fixture within the Ibiza electronic music scene, celebrated for her multifaceted contributions as a DJ, promoter, and vocalist. Her presence was felt across the island’s most iconic venues, including Pikes, elrow, [UNVRS], La Discothèque, Akasha, and 528. She frequently shared the stage with notable artists, cementing her reputation as a dedicated and talented performer.

Beyond her DJ sets, Ally was best known for founding OuShe, a pioneering platform and party series specifically designed to support and elevate women in electronic music. The project grew from its Ibiza roots to host events in London and Biarritz, while also providing essential DJ workshops. In 2025, the initiative expanded into the airwaves with a dedicated show on Ibiza Sonica Radio. Additionally, Ally was a key figure in the local community, heading up an open mic night at Las Dalias de Ibiza.

The Pikes team shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, noting, “Having been a part of the Pikes family for well over a decade, our entire team is shocked, saddened and heartbroken at the news of her passing.” They added, “Santanna, we are so beyond grateful to you for sharing your art, your music and your incredible voice with us at Pikes for all these years.”

Fellow artists have also shared their grief. DJ Bear Winder described Ally as “the most electrifying bolt of energy” and a “vessel of creativity, art, music, playfulness, fire, passion, talent and pure LOVE.” Similarly, producer Bushwacka remarked on the “tragic loss,” noting that she brought immense love and laughter to those around her.

To assist with funeral costs, a friend of the late artist, Marcus Eppy, launched a JustGiving page. The campaign has seen an outpouring of support, raising nearly £9,000—well exceeding its original target—a testament to the profound impact Ally had on her community.
