Tomorrowland launches competition to win a DJ set at this year’s festival
Tomorrowland has launched a competition to win a DJ set at this year’s flagship festival, which runs on the weekends of 18th to 20th and 25th to 27th July at Boom in Belgium.
Open to aspiring artists across the globe, the contest is hosted by Tomorrowland Academy — the iconic electronic music event’s educational programme. Entrants need to submit a 30 to 45 minute mixtape “that truly represents you”, with deep digging encouraged to unearth “hidden gems” and unusual tracks.
“Keep transitions clean but engaging, ensuring long blends don’t make the mix dull,” read a statement by Tomorrowland about the competition.
“Infuse energy and personality into your progression to keep listeners hooked. Most importantly, be yourself – your mixtape should reflect your unique style and passion. Along with your mix, submit a motivational video sharing who you are and your ambitions.”
Submissions can be made through the Online Tomorrowland DJ & Producing Academy. Memberships must be activated and mixes filed no later than 15th June to have a chance of winning. Find full details here.
Tomorrowland has run DJ competitions for its weekenders in the past. For 2024, genre-defying London-based Greek talent The Yard Woman was selected to perform at the House of Fortune Stage after entering the contest. And last month Swedish melodic techno artist AYDEN LOYDE had a chance to open the Reflection of Love area at Tomorrowland Winter 2025 after winning a separate bout.
Tomorrowland unveiled its complete line-up in January, with 600 artists playing 16 stages. Anyma, Armin van Buuren, Alok, Amelie Lens, David Guetta and Swedish House Mafia will all make appearances. Most ticket packages are now sold out, but you can keep up to date with resale and news online.
