Tomorrowland launches competition to win a DJ set at this year’s Brasil festival

Tomorrowland is giving aspiring DJs the chance to win a DJ set at this year’s Brasil festival.

Successful entrants will play alongside “the world’s top artists” at The Gathering, Tomorrowland Brasil’s official open-air opening party, which takes place at DreamVille on 9th October.

Applicants must be signed up to the Tomorrowland Online Academy, and are invited to create a 30-45 minute mixtape showcasing their craft. “Dig deep into music databases to uncover hidden gems. Keep transitions clean but engaging, ensuring long blends don’t make the mix dull,” read the official advice.

In addition to the mix, any DJs interested in entering should submit “a motivational video sharing who you are and your ambitions”. You can send your mixtape and video via the Tomorrowland Academy site here.

The fourth edition of Tomorrowland Brasil, which will take place at its usual home of Parque Maeda in Itu, São Paulo, from October 10th to 12th, will feature more than 100 artists performing across six stages.

Vintage CultureANNA, Zerb, Cashu, and Bárbara Boeing are among the artists heading to São Paulo. There will also be sets from Armin van Buuren, Axwell, Nicky Romero, KASIA, among others. For the full line-up, visit the Tomorrowland Brasil site

Last month, Tomorrowland welcomed young DJs aged between 10 and 17 to perform at its flagship festival in Belgium, also in collaboration with Tomorrowland Academy.

Recently voted the World’s No.1 Festival in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Festivals poll for the fifth time, Tomorrowland is expanding its remit to Thailand, with a five-year deal approved by the country’s Cabinet.

In addition, the festival will bring CORE events to Los Angeles, Medellín and Naarm/Melbourne next year.
