Together For Palestine release Christmas charity single, ‘Lullaby’, featuring Brian Eno, Nai Barghouti, Neneh Cherry, more: Listen
Together For Palestine’s Christmas charity single is out now.
‘Lullaby’, which has been produced by Benji B, Kieran Brunt and Henri Davies, features contributions from over 15 UK and Palestinian artists, including Brian Eno, Nai Barghouti and Neneh Cherry.
The track includes lyrics taken from the work of Palestinian poet and author Mahmoud Darwish and is based on an original concept from Es Devlin, who was the stage designer for September’s sold-out Together For Palestine concert at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.
The single is funds for Choose Love’s Together For Palestine Fund, which supports three Palestinian-led organisations: Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service
“Our screens have been filled with devastating, unfiltered footage from Gaza for more than two years now. And even though this has brought a lot of truth and understanding to the Palestinian cause, it’s also a double-edged sword,” said ‘Lullaby’ video director Lina Makoul. “The other edge is how the world is slowly being trained to only connect Palestinians with rubble, bombs, destruction, and victimhood.”
“As a storyteller who works with music and visuals, I feel it’s my responsibility to push against that imposed image and show us as the humans we are first. You can see us as hopeless victims if you want, but I see us as stubborn in our dignity,” she continued.
