This book showcases 66 unique custom synths by designer Love Hultén
A new book documents 66 colourful custom synthsisers designed and built by Love Hultén.
The Swedish designer and artist showcases his bespoke hardware creations from 2022-’25 in Works II, which he describes as “152 pages of [my] most recent alientech and craftporn”. The hardcover book is out now in a one-time limited run of 600 copies, published directly by Hultén.
The book presents design sketches, final builds and personal notes alongside full-colour photography of the wood- and metal-based kit, according to designboom. Among the featured projects are the Y-17 ferrofluid visualiser synthesiser, Pantone Vu’s pink noise lab machine (pictured above), and Hymns from the Sun’s biodata synth.
Previous designs from Love Hultén include the Voxarray 61 modular synth, the custom carrier37 mod for the Korg Minilogue synth, and colourful Bivalvia boutique toy synths. (A London-based software engineer recently shared his designs and prototypes for a 3D-printed synth for toddlers inspired by his daughter.)
