There’s a rave happening at London’s Abbey Road Studios with Soulwax
Soulwax are putting on the first-ever “rave” at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios.
On Saturday, 21st February, the Belgian brothers will take over Studio One at the space for a five-hour party, which will be open to 300 attendees. Tickets are free via a public ballot, with fans invited to call the Soulwax rave hotline on 07886 072699 to enter.
On the night, the brothers will debut new Soulwax material, recorded live the previous day in Abbey Road’s Studio Two. Joined by their full live band, they’ll turn the studio into a creative hub, making use of its vintage equipment before cutting the tracks straight to vinyl to be played at the Studio One party.
In a joint statement, Soulwax said: “It’s hard to say whether we have a perverse or healthy attraction to crazy ideas; that’s for other people to decide, really. So to be approached with a crazy idea is one thing, but to be approached with a crazy idea by the most iconic recording studio in music history is even more attractive. We embrace and accept this challenge and also sincerely hope this won’t be the last rave at Abbey Road.”
The night will be filmed for broadcast on YouTube on Thursday, 5th March. Find out more below.
Soulwax just finished touring their latest album around the UK and Europe. The LP, ‘All Systems Are Lying’, was released last October.
