The xx to play first live show since 2018 in Mexico City
The xx have shared more details of their first live show in six years.
Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie xx will host their first concert since 2018 at Mexico City’s Pepsi Center WTC on the previously announced date of 4th April. “This is the start of a next chapter together, and there’s no better place to return than in front of our Mexican fans”, the London band wrote on Instagram. “We’ve always felt a deep connection to Mexico – the warmth, the openness, the energy from the crowd.”
There’s no other information about the show and tickets out yet, but fans can register for presale information here.
The early April date will precede the xx’s already announced Coachella 2026 performances. They’ve been teasing a new live show and new music by sharing rehearsal footage on Instagram since March 2025.
In June 2024, Jamie xx told Capital Dance: “We’ve been in the studio again recently and it just feels like old times. It’s early days [but] we’re having a good time… I think it’s going to be difficult when we get a bit more into it, but ultimately that is going to make the record better.”
This past November, the xx released a digital deluxe edition of their 2009 self-titled debut album with bonus tracks and covers.
