The xx share rehearsal footage ahead of return show at Coachella: “See you in the desert?”
The xx have shared some rehearsal footage ahead of their much-anticipated return to the live stage next year.
Earlier this week, the trio appeared on a surprise line-up drop by US festival Coachella, which cemented rumours that they would be back on stage in 2026 following an on-stage reunion at LIDO Festival in London earlier this year. “Picking up our instruments again. See you in the desert?” a message posted to The xx Instagram read.
In 2024, The xx’s Romy and Oliver Sim made guest appearances on fellow bandmate Jamie xx’s album, ‘In Waves’. This was the first time all three had been in a studio together since the group’s 2017 album, ‘I See You’. It was also revealed that they had begun working on a fourth record. This was followed by a social media post in March showing the three-piece during sessions for the as-yet-untitled forthcoming release.
Other names confirmed for Coachella include Anyma, Solomun, Little Simz, Carlita b2b Josh Baker, Disclosure, Groove Armada, Prospa, David Byrne and Mercury Music Prize nominees PinkPantheress and fka Twigs. The event will run over the weekends of 10th-12th and 17th-19th April 2026, two months earlier than this year, at its usual home in the Indio Valley, California.
