The Cause to open new hi-fi cocktail bar and restaurant in Dalston. The Marquee Moon

The team behind The Cause has announced the opening of a new hi-fi cocktail bar and restaurant in Dalston.

Scheduled to open 15th August, The Marquee Moon – which will be set across two floors – will host DJs programmed by The Cause crew until 3AM on the weekends.

The venue will feature a KBL hi-fi sound system installed by AudioGold, with upcoming sets from the likes of NTS resident Mafalda, Secretsundaze co-founder Giles Smith, The Cause resident Rossy Ross, Grace Sands, Charlie Bones & OG (Do!!You!!! World!), and more already confirmed

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, the founders said: “In January we got the keys to The Marquis of Lansdowne, a historic boozer on the Dalston strip, just meters away from where our founders Stuart and Eugene met back in 2014, four years before The Cause was born… a friendship that’s come a very, very long way!”

“Over the last 7 months, our amazing build crew have completely transformed the space and we can’t wait to unveil our next project…”

The Marquee Moon is the latest project by The Cause co-founders Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild. This venture follows their takeover of the Peckham-based pub, The Greyhound, which opened in March.

Since closing their beloved and original Tottenham Hale venue back in early 2022, The Cause crew have continued to put on events in London and further afield, including pop-up Hackney Wick venue, All My Friends, and The Seaside Beano festival.

Back in January, the DIY clubbing institution opened its new site on 60 Dock Road “in its fullest form” following an 18-month soft launch and has since hosted the likes of Optimo, Pablo Bozzi, Binh, Suze Ijó, Lola Haro, and many more.
