The Alchemist and Hit-Boy announce collaborative album and short film, ‘Goldfish’: Listen
The Alchemist and Hit-Boy have announced a collaborative album and accompanying short film. ‘Goldfish’ drops via EMPIRE on 24th October.
‘Business Merger’, the record’s first single, was unveiled last week, with production from Uncle AI. You can listen below.
The full LP sees the two MCs share lyrical honours, delivering bars over distinctive, sample-heavy production. Meanwhile, the accompanying film stars Danny Trejo (From Dusk Till Dawn, Heat, Once Upon A Time In Mexico) and Simon Rex, aka Dirt Nasty (Red Rocket), and follows “a squad of hit men disguised as carpet cleaners attempting to leave a life of crime in a chaotic flurry of events.”
‘Goldfish’ is the latest in a string of joint projects from The Alchemist and Hit-Boy, with previous credits including the ‘Theodore & Andre’ EP, ‘Black & Whites’, and the single ‘Slipping Into Darkness’. They also split production credits on ‘Everybody Can’t Go’, Benny The Butcher’s Def Jam debut.
The Alchemist’s last album, ‘The Genuine Article’, featured on DJ Mag’s Top Albums of 2024. Earlier this year, he was confirmed as producer on Erykah Badu’s first new LP in 15 years.
