Synaptic Voyager – High Rise EP

A duo from Sheffield, Synaptic Voyager explore atmospheric rhythms in a variety of genres, wearing their ’90s influences especially on their sleeves. The title track of new EP ‘High Rise’ shows their more upfront side, with an oscillating, funky bassline powering a metallic electro beat and warm chords. ‘Nebula’ is the key cut here, a stunning electro tune with classy drum programming, an irresistible Mr. Fingers-style synth bass, and jazzy keys. The 4/4 ‘Deep Impact’ nods to classic Detroit and, with its emotive melodies and crisp beats, engages both the feet and the heart.  Another great release from London’s rising Cyphon label.
