Sony announces two new wireless turntables, the PS-LX3BT and PS-LX5BT

Sony has unveiled two new wireless turntables, the PS-LX3BT and PS-LX5BT.

Both support Bluetooth connectivity and feature a USB output for recording or digitising vinyl and wired listening. Each model also features an aluminium platter and a high-grade cartridge for high-fidelity sound.

According to Sony, the PS-LX5BT is aimed at “first-time vinyl collectors who want premium sound with everyday ease” and comes with an attached audio cable and built-in phono preamp.

By contrast, the PS-LX5BT is geared more towards audiophiles looking for “precision audio and studio-like playback at home” with design features like the rigid one-piece body working to suppress any unwanted vibration.

The new turntables arrive seven years after Sony’s beginner-friendly PS-LX310BT.

The PS-LX3BT is available for pre-sale now at a retail price of $399.99. Visit here to pick one up. The PS-LX5BT will be available for pre-sale this spring from Sony. The price point for that one is $499.99.

Sony launched a new digital Walkman, the NW-A306, back in 2023, complete with full WiFi compatibility and a 3.6″ full-colour touch screen.
