Robyn announces new album, ‘Sexistential’, shares two singles: Listen

Robyn has unveiled details of her long-awaited new album, ‘Sexistential’. She has also shared two singles, which you can listen to below.

Co-produced by Klas Åhlund and set for release on 27th March via Young, it will mark the Swedish dance-pop artist’s first album since 2018’s ‘Honey’. In November, Robyn returned with ‘Dopamine’, her first new single in over five years. Taken from the forthcoming LP, the track was later remixed by Jamie xx.

Speaking about the album in a statement, Robyn said: “Exploring my sensual life is the same feeling as when I make a good song. It’s such a beautiful kind of sensitive vibration that takes so much work to keep afloat. I feel like the purpose of my life is to stay horny – it doesn’t even have to be about sex, but it’s feeling sensual and attracted to things that I enjoy, and not letting anything take over that.”

“I felt when I was making this album, I really felt like I was crashing into myself again,” Robyn told Apple Music 1 host Zane Lowe in a new interview. “I wanted the album to feel like it was coming in and hitting with a hard impact.

“There were so many big existential moments in the period leading up to making the album, but I think there was also some really joyful fun and pleasure, and the two things posed against each other was kind of what informed the duality of it all,” she added.

On New Year’s Eve, Robyn debuted two more singles from ‘Sexistential’ during her show at Brooklyn Mirage. ‘Talk To Me’ and the record’s title track formed part of an 18-song set, which culminated with the 2010 hit, ‘Dancing On My Own’.
