Research study exploring electronic music’s impact on wellbeing launches, volunteers wanted

MiM (Movement is Medicine) is looking for people to take part in research investigating the effects of electronic music and natural movement on mental health and wellbeing.

The initial phase of the year-long study will see 200 participants taking part in one-hour controlled sessions at London’s Drumsheds, ahead of doors opening on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March.

Dubbed The Dancefloor Study, the research will involve “guided movement to rhythm, followed by simple pre‑and post‑session measures. No choreography. No pressure. Just your natural response to sound”.

If successful, the study will provide MiM with one of the first large-scale datasets exploring electronic music as a tool for health and wellbeing.

This phase of the study is being held at Drumsheds and delivered by MiM, in collaboration with Prof Paul Dolan, AlphaTheta and Broadwick Live.

In exchange for their time, Friday participants will gain free entry to ANTS at Drumsheds, with Saturday participants receiving access to Drumcode.
