Premiere: Theorist ‘Snooze You Lose’
Theorist is set to release a new two-tracker on Scuffed Recordings later this week. Have an exclusive first listen to ‘Snooze You Lose’ below.
Following recent outings on TraTraTrax and Wisdom Teeth, the London-based DJ and producer returns to Scuffed with a “double measure of club pressure”.
Across the pair of tracks – landing this Friday, 16th January – Theorist ventures into headier percussive zones, tempering fierce South American club energy and the driving pulse of UK techno with percolating IDM textures and grime-tinged vocal fragments.
‘Snooze You Lose’, premiering below, is a funked-up techno workout with sprightly horns, playful drum work and a groove that just won’t quit, while ‘Slam Wide Shut’ is dark and intense with crafty riddims and a formidable low end.
The two-tracker marks Scuffed Recordings’ first release of 2026, following a big twelve months for the UK label. Recent projects include Hedchef’s ‘Time’s Up’ and ‘Jagged Edge’ by Pépe.
Theorist’s ‘Snooze You Lose/Slam Wide Shut’ is out Friday, 16th January via Scuffed Recordings. Pre-save the release here, and have an exclusive first listen to ‘Snooze You Lose’ below.
