Premiere: DESNA ‘The Second Coming 528 Hz’

DESNA will release a new EP, ‘Frequency+’, via her own Frequency Made Music label this week. Listen to ‘The Second Coming 528 Hz’ below. 

Following the release of 2024’s ‘MANIFEST’, which was a regular fixture in sets by the likes of Amelie Lens and Chris Leibing, the New York-based DJ and producer returns with four more cuts of rolling big room-ready techno with a purpose. Channeling her intent to create music that has a healing impact, DESNA works with specific frequencies in her tracks that are meant to have “ profound effects on the mind and body”.

Speaking about the release, she said: “‘Frequency+’ is an invitation to explore the deeper connections between music, healing and spirituality. By incorporating sound frequencies with transformative qualities, I hope to create an experience that helps listeners transcend their ego and embrace a higher sense of purpose.”

For example, 528 Hz, the frequency heard in ‘The Second Coming’ and ‘Glorified Blessings’, is known for its “stress-relieving and serotonin-boosting properties”, while 110 Hz, heard in ‘Delete Discomfort’, is meant to resonate at the same frequency of the human voice and create a calming effect. 

‘Frequency+’ will be released on this Friday 21st February.
