Premiere: Daddy Hyphen ‘Silver Crack’

Bristol’s Daddy Hyphen is set to release a new single, ‘Silver Crack’. Have an exclusive first listen below.

Inspired by the brisk breaks and hardcore stylings of Saucer Crew’s 1992 ‘Andromeda’ EP, which was “on heavy rotation” for the artist at the time of writing, ‘Silver Crack’ is a vintage rave slammer with bags of emotional depth. Landing this Friday, 5th September, the cut taps into the same cerebral, journeying energy as Daddy Hyphen’s DJ sets, swerving between pockets of acidic, percussive mayhem and wistful synthscapes without warning.

In his own words, the cut is “something loose n raw from the archive, circa June 2022—for dark rooms, deep nights and astral travel. A nod to the unrelenting, melancholic UK hardcore that inspired me so vividly in that period.”

It’s the first release from the Resonant Body label head, whose been a long-time stalwart of the Bristol electronic scene, since 2023’s ‘BETA CRUNCHER / METTA’ two-tracker, which explored darker, dubbier territories. Take a deep dive into Daddy Hyphen’s palette via his recent guest mix on Subtle Radio.

‘Silver Crack’ is out this Friday, 5th September. Pre-order the single here, and have an exclusive first listen to the single below.
