Physical Therapy celebrates 10 years of Allergy Season with ‘Hypersensitivity’ compilation

Allergy Season label head Physical Therapy has released a new compilation to celebrate ten years of the New York label.

Marking a decade of “genre-agnostic” music, ‘Hypersensitivity: A Decade of Allergy Season’ is a continuous mix featuring a wide range of artists associated with the label. It includes some of the most popular tracks in the imprint’s history, as well as several fan favourites previously only available on Bandcamp.

Among the artists featured on the 21-track release are rRoxymore, CCL, Alex Falk, UMFANG, BEARCAT, SHYBOI and Lady Blacktronika. Stream it below.

Speaking about the release, the Queens-based, New Jersey-born producer and DJ Physical Therapy – real name Daniel Fisher – reflected on the last decade helming the label: “So much that I had wished for New York’s electronic music scene has come true. The city’s scene is more vibrant than any European city; the barriers for releasing great music and finding an audience have vanished.”

He added: “Sometimes I miss those earlier unvarnished days, but I’m grateful to have seen everything that has happened since, to have made whatever tiny contribution I could, to have provided a platform for artists to do what they want.”

He also promised “same thing over and over, hopefully better and better” over the next ten years. Read his full statement and buy ‘Hypersensitivity’ via Bandcamp.

This Saturday, 19th October, Allergy Season are teaming up with promoters Resolute to throw a tenth anniversary party at New York’s HOLO venue featuring Bearcat, Lauren Flax, Love Letters, SHYBOI, UMFANG, OSSX, Michael Magnan and Physical Therapy himself. Get your tickets for that here.
