New Palestinian benefit compilation, ‘Gaza Is The Moral Compass’, released
Beacon Sound has released a new 16-track benefit compilation in support of Palestine, ‘Gaza Is The Moral Compass’.
The Portland, Oregon–based label brings together contributions from foodman, Godspeed You! Black Emperor’s Efrim Menuck, Joni Void, Raz Mesinai, Palestinian diaspora artists SAWT and Kareem Samara, and others in support of Seeds of Hope and Reviving Gaza.
Out now on digital platforms and limited-edition cassette, the liner notes are written by activist Tara Alami and Radio AlHara’s Yousef Anastas. All proceeds raised will be donated to the chosen organisations.
The Bandcamp description reads: “Artists have always been essential to movements for justice. They help to build collective power, amplify truth, and mobilize communities across borders. In moments of profound crisis, their work becomes more than expression. It is a force that sustains organizing and keeps struggles visible.
“This compilation is grounded in that tradition, and is further anchored by the powerful reflections of Tara Alami and Yousef Anastas, whose words accompany the album and situate it within the material realities of genocide, occupation, and resistance.”
‘Gaza Is The Moral Compass’ is the first compilation in a series of fundraising collections by Beacon Sound for digital and cassette release. Each instalment will support a different Palestinian organisation.
Seeds of Hope is a community-run educational program ensuring that students are able to continue learning while living in displacement camps in Gaza, while Reviving Gaza is a grassroots, Palestinian-led mutual aid initiative focused on meeting the immediate needs of families across the city.
Other 2025 compilations raising funds for Palestinian causes include ‘Paradisco For Palestin’, Sauna Radio’s debut compilation, ‘Letters to the Sun’ and Big Dyke Energy’s V/A EP.
