New 2000-capacity club opens in Birmingham, Forum Digbeth
Birmingham has a new 2000-capacity club.
Forum Digbeth is being run by the same team behind Forum Birmingham, which shut down permanently in April. Last year, the venue faced a temporary closure due to the death of a 22-year-old man. The new club, which is located at the former Roller Jam site in Digbeth, soft-launched with a set from amapiano star Uncle Waffles on 31st May.
“Following the sad, unexpected and indefinite end of Forum Birmingham in April due to the closure of the Corporation Square building by its landlords, the team behind the acclaimed venue has secured a new home which will allow them to continue to offer up some of Birmingham’s most essential events,” the venue team wrote on Instagram.
Forum Digbeth is described as “a raw, warehouse-style aesthetic”. The club is currently undergoing “phased renovations” and will be equipped with the D&B Audiotechnik sound system from the former Forum Birmingham site.
Forum Digbeth promises “world-class talent” and leading electronic music promoters such as Louder. Some previously scheduled Forum Birmingham events will be hosted at the new club, with announcements coming soon. Check out the Forum Digbeth sign-up page for info and updates.
