Nairobi’s Kilele music and tech summit announces 2025 dates

Kenya’s Kilele music and tech summit has revealed its dates for next year.

The inaugural Kilele in 2024 invited delegates from over 25 countries, including Ableton, Bitwig and FL Studio, to explore tech-centred music industry-related topics spanning global and regional perspectives. The symposium has now announced its return for 2025 with the second edition of the festival taking place between 18th – 22nd February in Nairobi.

Partners, events and workshops have yet to be announced but artists, academics, technologists and researchers with ideas for either panels, workshops, showcases or installations are encouraged to submit proposals for Kilele 2025.

A collaboration with music innovation hub Santuri, the application deadline for proposals has been extended to 25th October. Ideas are welcome that share “a strong affinity for innovation, experimentation and exploration”.

“We are particularly interested in ideas that connect local and folkloric practices and knowledge with new ideas and approaches. Similarly, concepts that reflect on the relationship to our environments – social, political and ecological – are more than welcome!” write Kilele on Instagram.
