NAINA announces debut EP on Hooversound, ‘Survival’, shares single: Listen

DJ, broadcaster, label owner and now producer NAINA has announced the forthcoming release of her debut EP, ‘Survival’.

The new EP, which will arrive on the Hooversound label she co-runs with SHERELLE, is due for release on 7th February 2025. Ahead of the release, she has shared the EP’s first single, ‘I’d Rather Be Here (Than Anywhere With You)’.

The single is inspired by what NAINA described as “tears in the club moments”, and draws influence from artists ranging from The Prodigy and FKA Twigs to Hooversound alum, Prayer. Described as a nod to her younger, raving self, you can listen to it below.

Speaking on today’s single, NAINA shared: “This is the first song I made which I knew would be on my debut EP. I wanted to create something atmospheric that builds and builds to a pretty euphoric ending. The track was originally a techno track but the breaks felt so natural to build in and turn into something that really represents me and the young raver in me that would lose my mind on the dancefloor. I’ve been messing around with production as a hobby for a long time, and it’s always felt so cathartic, a form of release in a way—and this tune is when I started taking it seriously. Combine that with close pals gassing me up, and my brain being less broken, I’m now fully ready for the world to hear what I can do.”

Earlier this year, Hooversound co-founder SHERELLE released ‘Henry’s Revenge‘ via on the label.
