Mayurashka – LSI Dreaming

Mayurashka continues her annual neat-streak of EPs. ‘LSI Dreaming’ is the Japanese producer at her most eclectic — a fine fit for her Rhythm Section debut. Opener ‘Parents and God’ prepares you for the unexpected, slinking effortlessly between a classic house pulse, church organ interludes and a bizarro convulsion of varying 808s. Like the title track, ‘Notango’ harnesses organic drums for syncopated tribal trips. Acid synths, Gamelan-style percussion and animalistic coos on the record’s title track feel ripe for The White Lotus, while highlight, ‘Cat Murmur’, with its muddy techno throb and prog layering, helps anchor wild sounds.
