Maara announces new album, ‘Ultra Villain’, on NAFF, shares ‘I’m The One You Want’: Listen

Maara has announced a new album, ‘Ultra Villain’, on Priori’s NAFF Recordings. You can check the latest single, ‘I’m The One You Want’, below. 

The new track follows the release of ‘The Chase’ and the LP’s title track, both of which were unveiled in December. 

Taking in elements of IDM, R&B, pop trip-hop and more, the Berlin-based, Montreal-born DJ and producer has said that the LP was only made possible after a process of building greater trust in herself. “I realised people can only meet you where they’ve met themselves,” she explained. 

The album, which sees the artist turning to the use of her own vocals, is described as having been written during a period of “personal rupture”. Closing track ‘Come Home’ was penned just before her debut live appearance at MUTEK festival. 

‘Ultra Villan’ will be released on 5th February.
