London’s Corsica Studios to close down in 2026

London’s Corsica Studios will close down next year.

Following a report earlier today (29th September) by The Londoner, sources close to the celebrated Elephant & Castle club have confirmed that it will shut its doors permanently after 24 years in 2026. While no cause has been given at the time of writing, sources reportedly told The Londoner that contributing factors include the major development and gentrification of the surrounding area, noise complaints from neighbours, and rising costs.

A full statement surrounding the club’s closure is expected tomorrow, 30th September.

Since opening its doors in 2002, Corsica Studios has become one of the best-loved clubs in the capital. Founded by Adrian Jones and the late Amanda Moss, it was named “Best Small Club” in DJ Mag’s Best Of British Awards in 2009 and again in 2019. It was voted one of the best clubs in the world by DJ Mag readers on multiple occassions via the Top 100 Clubs poll, most recently in 2022.

Among the most-popular club nights and parties in the venue are the likes of I Love Acid and Rupture, the jungle drum & bass event founded by Mantra & Double O, whose DJ Mag cover shoot was photographed in the club. Other highlights in its programming have included Joyride, the sex-positive Sunday day party, underground house and techno night Origins, Planet Fun, Insomnia, and Evian Christ’s Trance Party.

We will continue to report on this story as it develops.
