Korg announces Kaoss Pad V

Korg is bringing out the latest version of its long-standing effects processor and sampler, the Kaoss Pad, the Kaoss Pad V.

The standout feature of the updated Kaoss Pad is its new dual-touch operation, which lets you move two parameters at once. It also promises expanded sampling and looping tools with eight bars of sampling time.

There’s a “refreshed library of classic and modern KAOSS effects” — including the new Voice FX engine — and comprising 200 factory presets and 100 custom presets in total.

What’s more, guitarists can use the Kaoss Pad V as an effects processor thanks to its Hi-Z jack input.

The original Kaoss Pad dates back to 1999 and was noted at the time for its innovative touchscreen interface.

Korg recently announced the release of its kalimba-esque “acoustic synthesizer”, phase8, and in 2024 dropped a new portable turntable with built-in looper and FX.
