Karachi’s Cape Monze Records releases compilation in aid of Pakistan flood victims

Cape Monze Records have released a new compilation in aid of victims of the recent floods in Pakistan. Listen below.

The label – which is based in the country’s most populous city Karachi – released the 19-track compilation ‘Momentum’ on 4th November.

Featuring tracks by the likes of Rudoh, Dynoman, False Persona and more, it was compiled to directly help those affected by the floods, which have killed over 1200 people and affected 33 million of the country’s population.

In a statement on Bandcamp, Cape Monze said of the release:”100% of the proceeds from the compilation will go to multiple organisations working on the ground providing medical care, shelter and the ongoing rebuilding process in flood-hit areas of Pakistan.

‘Momentum’ is available to purchase for a minimum of $15 here. Its release comes a month after ‘Floodlight’, a 92-track compilation of new and original drum & bass tracks was released help aid those affected by the floods in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s monsoon season began in mid-July, but significantly heavier than usual rainfall and melting glaciers following a severe heatwave in the months prior have led to catastrophic flooding. The country remains in desperate need of support, with the UN recently increasing the target for an ongoing appeal to over $800million due to the extent of the devastation.
