Joy Orbison releases new single, ‘2M3 2U’: Listen

Joy Orbison has released a new single, ‘2M3 2U’. Check it out below.

“I see this one as a bit of a UK take on hyperpop. But with a bit of bass weight,” says the UK producer of the track.”The vocal part could be a sample of some garbled message of love in ‘Bladerunner’ or ‘the Fifth Element’, and the main riffs had me thinking about the DJ Narrows records we’d play at youth club parties”.

He continued:”Interesting top lines seem to be a bit absent in my world these days and I’ve definitely been influenced by contemporary drum & bass and their endless search for the catchiest wobble.” Check out ‘2M3 2U’ below.

The dancefloor-oriented track follows ‘pinky ring’, ‘red velve7’ and his collaboration with Overmono for XL Recordings, ‘Blind Date’. Prior to that, he released the acclaimed ‘still slipping vol. 1’ mixtape (named winner of Best Album at last year’s DJ Mag Best Of British awards) and a series of more experimentally minded EPs.

Earlier this year, Joy Orbison launched his own semi-regular London party, Just For You, at a Soho basement space.
