Jeff Mills’ Tomorrow Comes The Harvest group announce new album, ‘Forbidden Planet’

Tomorrow Comes the Harvest, the live band founded by Jeff Mills, have announced a new album, ‘Forbidden Planet’.

No release date has been confirmed yet, but the first track, ‘The Happening’, is due to land on digital via Mills’ Axis Records tomorrow — Tuesday 23rd September 2025. A vinyl edition will then drop on 17th October. You can listen to the original mix below and pre-order here.

“The concept of ‘The Happening’ is about the beginning and the end of Time and Space; the initial point of when reality starts and its conclusional apex,” Mills explained.

“In the beginning, there is a great light, and from this light, comes life. Life is lived until it isn’t,” he continued. “This is what The Happening implies. It speaks about a 9-minute frame in reality, used to emphasise something that happened a very long time ago, something that happened in its creation and what will eventually happen far in the future.”

Tomorrow Comes the Harvest began in 2018 as a collaborative experiment between Mills and the late-Nigerian Ghanaian drummer, composer and songwriter, Tony Allen. The project now comprises Mills alongside Indo-French percussionist and songwriter Prabhu Edouard, and French-Guianese keyboardist, pianist and improviser Jean-Phi Dary. Their most recent album and tour was 2023’s ‘Evolution’.

The band have a number of live shows coming up, including London’s Jazz Café, the Mexico City edition of Mutek festival, and Paradiso Amsterdam as part of ADE 2025
